WTA District 5 is hosting their Summer Rendezvous on Saturday, June 22 at the Mondovi Conservation Club!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Mondovi Club is a beautiful venue located at W450 Youth Rd., Mondovi, WI

Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Schedule: Trapping Demos start at 9:00 a.m.
District Meeting 1:00 p.m.
Raffle Drawings 3:00 p.m.
1st prize is Tikka T3X Lite Stainless 6.5 Creedmore (or $500 cash)
2nd prize is FOXPRO "Hammerjack" digital game caller (or $200 cash)
3rd prize is Big Frig 75 quart cooler (or $150 cash)
Tickets are 1 for $5, 3 for $10, 7 for $20 and are available from D5 members and at the Rendezvous.

There will also be a pile of bucket raffles! Plenty of room for tailgaters.

It would be good to meet you! Look for a gimpy, troll-like guy with a camouflage cane, most likely buying way too many raffle tickets! I usually set up for tailgating but don't think it will be in the works this year. This rendezvous is always a great time.

Are d9 members allowed?

D9 members are always welcome to D5 events! Patrice and Zim made an appearance a couple years ago, and even though we were unable to arrange a brass band, dancing monkeys, and the entire Green Bay Packers football team to meet and greet them, the D9 Ambassadors were very welcome and I think had a great time.

If you show up, look for a grungy, maybe smelly, grey-haired troll limping around filling his pockets with raffle tickets. If you don't find him, ask around for Ray Heidel.

I will do my best, but can't guarantee it. I can guarantee, however, that there will not be any Minnesota Vikings. Tom Brady has expressed interest but said he may not be able to make it due to prior commitments.

If you could get Carson Wentz there it would make it worthwhile for me to travel the 1,000 plus miles to attend.

We did get an email from somebody calling himself "C. Wentz" offering autographed jerseys to anyone showing up but I figured it was one of those Nigerian prince scams and replied "Keep your bogus crap...you aren't welcome here."

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I know Nancy! First time in many years I did not pack my truck with all kinds of good stuff for tailgating. Went there as a tourist!

Well, the Great Black Otter and WTA D5 still have connections...the weather could not have been better. There was not much of a crowd at all but Black and Tan from D9 and Green Bay (Brian from the Frozen Tundra) showed up and it was great to meet them! There were a couple vendors there with trapping supplies, traps, etc. and I think they did some good business.

Raffles were great and I know that Black and Tan will always have a cold beer in his hand. Yes, I sat on a Golden Horseshoe and won a pile of stuff. Did not win the gun or major prizes but still made out like a bandit. My apologies to Bill Wrasse who sat next to me for luck and was winning all kinds of stuff but changed seats with me to accommodate by bum hip....and then I won a ton of stuff.

The demos were well-attended and are always great at D5. I couldn't attend any because of by dang hip. Instead I hung around a little with the vendors and was lucky enough to purchase 2 of Leo Hoeft's trapping axes.

All in all, it was really a great success and a good time was had by all. Really fun for everybody. Really looking forward to next year!
