Lots of Irish were slaves, one of mine was a slave in North Africa in the early 1600s having been captured by pirates in the English Channel and then sold into slavery according to my aunt he was 16/17 or so at the time and managed to gain his freedom after 20 some years and return home it’s unknown how he did so just that he did

In this country we tend to just focus on blacks having been slaves but the truth is they were a very small percentage of the world slave population there were American Indians by the 10s of thousands sold
Into slavery around the world along with many Irish and English and other European people many captured through raids on small towns and villages around the world, one of the most famous was where the town of Boston ( not the one in Massachusetts) was raided by Algerian pirates and carried off into slavery

Heck if you look at Rome they enslaved much of the known world at one time

Well my dad always said I was most all German with just enough sprinkle of Polish to make it interesting. He said blame the Polish fraction on your mother..
