Seems like we’ve been waiting forever. Worked my last road patrol shift yesterday. I’m technically on the books until June 30th using some unused comp days and maybe I’ll work a road job or two between now and then, but that’s a wrap. Trailer is packed and we,re headed out this afternoon for the eastern shore to a temporary spot until this place is sold and we can start the new home. Kinda surreal finally being able to leave here now. On to the next chapter.

Thank you all for helping to keep my sanity these past couple years!

April is autism awareness month. Nearly 1 in every 100 children are born with an autism spectrum disorder.. 1 in 100. Stop and think about it...please

I'm always happy to hear about people like you - a guy that's worked hard all his life and now can reap some reward. Congrats!

Thanks sir. Mixed feelings when I think about the ones I worked with but it was time!

Retirement somehow don’t fit just yet Aaron. I’ll work. Seasonal, part time, somethin. For the first time in 30 or so years, I just don’t have anywhere to go on any particular time table. And not knowing just what to do is new..and new is good!

Exactly! What makes it fun !

Had a neighbor stop by the other day to see if I wanted to get back on a horse and help ride and sort the feed lots he owns. Why yes, yes I do . Wouldn’t want to be in a saddle as much as I was in my teens and occasionally twenties, but a couple times a week during my off season? Why not .

Where are you headed to? Coming out west, or are ya staying back there with all the people?

Lol with all the people I suppose. Just a lot less than the other sh(@ hole.

We had always planned out west but as we got a bit older and the wife battled through chemo and radiation for a couple years we changed things up. I grew up on the bay and now we’re headed back to my roots on the salt. Things happen for reasons I suppose. The eastern shore of md just above the Va border suits us well and the kids love it.

Thank u sir. Yeah that takes me over 3 hours to cut with the beater tractor I’ve got parked in the woods back there. Now that we’re here, once the Jersey place sells I’ll set a shed and get something a bit better and faster than the old craftsman I’ve got there now. It was free, it’s was all me lol. If somebody messed with it these past few months it wouldn’t matter.
