Hi folks,

I am headed to Baton Rouge this fall to do the field portion of my paramedic program and would like to do some hunting and fishing while I'm there. I don’t know anyone that lives in the area so I thought I would make a post here. The schedule is not fixed yet but I expect to be in Louisiana by mid to late September and will stay there for 1 to 2 months.

I’m not able to pay a guide but would happily share expenses. If that isn't enticing, I would also do a hunting exchange - you take me hunting in LA and i'll take you hunting in OR. Something like Louisiana hog and gator hunting in exchange for Oregon backcountry mule deer or bear hunting.

If you Love hunting and wouldn’t mind sharing your culture and experiences with a Westerner, shoot me a message and we can discuss details. I will be working with the city of Baton Rouge and expect to have ample flexibility with my schedule.

Thanks for your time.

Casey

I hope you have someone willing to help you out. I know all about being a Paramedic. I was EMS and Fireman or over 25 yrs and some accidents never go away.

Good luck in your endeavor

Thanks for the response. I am really looking forward to working in the field. I spent the past several years as an engineer in the firearms industry and i was just ready for a change. Helping people and breaking things sounds pretty good to me.

Can't help you at your location , but , should you get a long weekend come on up. See what I can put you on . Bit of a haul, but I've done the same drive back and forth in the same day.

He be a good medic too. Helped my hatchet whacked thumb grow back almost like new!

Casey, maybe you can work out a deal to skin some nutrias and beavers for them in exchange for hunting opportunities!

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Thank you for the offer Sir. Where are you located?

Thank you for the kind words Carl. I would gladly skin beaver or other animals for some hunting experience down there. I’m glad to hear your once severed thumb is doing well.

How about some horn porn to get things started. My offer to swap hunts is genuine and founded in experience. If it tastes good or has nice fur and lives in Oregon, I've probably killed it. If you're able to put something together in Louisiana for hogs, gators, and mature whitetail bucks, and want to do an awesome western hunt, I can help.

I’m in southwest Oklahoma,DD. So not “near” you per se. However, close enough should you get a long weekend. Hogs are certainly available and I’ve got some deer spots.

Pigs we can do spot and stalk or from stands . Or we can really up close and personal and use hounds and knives.

Incredible pics

I love the morels too! I missed the season this year for the medic program but they'll be there next year when I'm done. Some years we get buckets and buckets of them and others, not so many.
