My buddy was elk hunting out where Rich hangs out and he met him. He said all those lions don't make It out of the tree alive.

Tom will more than likely see $300 for his efforts in one beaver. He's not concerned about what he makes per hour. I'm guessing most of what he makes and sells are all orders from customers who are willing to pay big bucks for having something made by Tom on Mountain Men. Good for him!

We record MM then fast forward through most of it just watching Marty and Tom. Tom's expertise in crafting, especially archery equipment, is enjoyable to watch and educational. Good for the public to see and good PR for trapping.

Certainly a win-win for the trapping community.

I like the show overall. It does make you cringe once in a while, but its better then most. Its tough to watch most reality shows. Way to much fake drama and bs. Mountain Men and The Last Alaskans are two of the best.

While those prices on tanned beaver seem wildly excessive,I remember being in a Taxidermists shop about 20 yrs. ago and him showing me a summer roadkill beaver that he'd skinned, had tanned and put it on a hoop with a few feathers and had it priced at $175.00.I asked him about the price and he said he sold others for the same price, that a lot of urban people don't have a problem paying it.
