Fathers day sales on safes from Tractor Supply. Going to put 2 on layaway to decide which one I want. Anybody have issues with one ? Any pros & cons ? Would prefer to get a liberty but looking to keep my guns safe from honest people. How do the electronic locks hold up on safes. Any and all comments appreciated. Ed

I bought a Canon Wide Body 8 years ago and a Canon Tall Wide Body 5 years ago from TSC. I have been pleased with it and the electronic lock. I have changed the batteries twice in 8 years on the one and just changed the battery in the other this spring, just a a precaution I’ve never had them go bad. I’ve been pleased with both of them. Both were bought during Black Friday sales.

My dad had a small Winchester from TSC. He had to have a locksmith replace the electronic lock twice. Once under warranty and the other on his nickel. After some research he found it was a pretty common problem with the smaller Winchester safes from TSC.

I put the 64 gun wide body on layaway just to make sure I get the sale price. $849.99 vs $999.99. So I saved 150 bucks. Was worried about any issues with the lock but my most common used 22 and 308 will be stashed in a closet so I would not be locking and unlocking all the time.

Interior looks like garbage, but it's for security, not for looks. I don't need carpeting.

I have had an Oxbow ( made by cannon) safe for about 14 years. Just had to replace the lock about a month ago. It had been flakey for a couple years now. Wouldn't unlock the first try a lot of times. Had to put code in several times to get it to open. Replaced battery once a year with good Duracell batteries. Finally it got to where it wouldn't unlock at all and go into lock out mode. It would finally unlock after setting for a while. Called cannon and the service rep told me I needed a new lock. They sent new upgraded lock, no questions asked, at no charge to me. I replaced it myself in about 10 minutes. The old lock was a Sargent and Greenleaf. They replaced it with an NL lock. Very pleased with Cannon's customer service

It ain't no Liberty or Browning on the inside but like you said I needed some security and if something happens and I can get something better down the road I can recoup at least 1/2 of the price on this one I am sure. A little easier on the pocketbook since the Liberty I wanted I think was around $2600.00.
