If you've already bid the job as a per/hr, the brush will take a lot longer, on a "by the job basis" go buy a cheap sprayer, or at the very least a short nap roller with a long handle, and use a brush to get those hard to get to spots where boards touch.

10 gallons got about 3/4 of 1st layer done. That was some thirsty, dry wood. Probably hadnet been stained in 10 years. Had to make the drive back to town. Will pick up 10 more gallons. Shouldn't take as much now that there's a layer in the wood

Pressure washing just destroys original treatment (CCA, etc). Have been treating & sealing my home and timber fence for over twenty five (25) years. Now I pay whatever it cost to "get it done". Simply saying, I can't (do not want) do it. Comes a time when time is more valuable than money. Just my .02 cents worth.
