Plus a snake can likely get fat on a mouse or two a week hardly enough to justify a trip to the hospital. That argument doesn't work for me.

Hard to believe grown men getting worked up over snakes in this day and age.

I spent five years in timber rattler country and four years in

Mississauga pygmy rattler country and they never bothered me.

When I was young and dumb we used to hunt and catch them bare handed for sport.

Have never killed one and never will.

They are highly protected in New York State.

You snake drama queens need to man up, grow a pair, and leave Rattlers alone.

Geeze. laugh

Not protected here. And rattler meat is good and a nice wallet for x-mas would be nice. Sarge

We do not have any right in my area but 50 miles north we have Timber Rattlers which are protected. The way I step over logs and stone walls around here the first thing I would have to do if I ever moved south would be to stop at the first Bass Pro and buy a pair of snake boots.

I used to travel, just to catch snake and sell large numbers of wild caught snakes, back when it was legal to. I have only ever seen two poisonous snakes in the wild. A very large timber rattler that got run over at the Mead Paper, Experimental Forest, wildlife area and a 20 some inch copperhead, that a buddy caught, when we were snake hunting at one of the old furnaces, that Ohio made into wildlife areas.

I like snakes, even poisonous ones, but if one showed up here, I would relocate it if it was possible to do it safely, or kill it if I could not.

I have never intentionally killed a snake, but would not risk having a poisonous snake around my family, friends, pets or stock.

I'd love a pair of those for putting a backing on my bow!
