Looking at possibly doing a bear hunt in the next couple of years. How's the bear population in the mentioned states? What are some pros and cons of each state? Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

If you come to east Tenn/ western NC we have tons of bear, my friends who hunt with dogs are always looking for someone to be the trigger man cause your only allowed one a season. Still hunting is tough because of big territory and thick cover but I have successfully done it

Eastern NC has the largest black bears in the nation. Flat country, agricultural land and swamps, Hyde, Terryl, Beaufort, and Washington Counties.

Too many bears in my part of Va but the hunting regs severely limit the number taken each year so the problem just keeps getting worse. No dogs and no baiting allowed. One positive is that telecheck has been proposed. Still would have to submit a tooth but won't have to bring in a whole carcass for weighing. Don't know if it has been voted on yet.

I'm being serious here, could a fella from Ohio move down there and have bears to hunt and fish to catch? This thread brought something to the surface for me and I'm ready for a adventure if it's there.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Aaron, would you be interested in meeting up for a hunt down there?
