I have been cage trapping some cottontails and relocating them. There just seems to be getting more and more of them. I was surprised how active and rambunctious they are when caged. I take them a few miles away and let them go.

Our population is way down here compared to what it was a year or two ago. I used to see five to six in the yard at once. I have not seen any for a month.

I need to do something too. They are all over my yard and will start raiding my garden pretty soon. It's the most I've seen in years. Relocation might be the way to go.

We don't have cottontails up here, but there are a few showshoe hares.

I used to relocate them into my kitchen.

I used to relocate them into my kitchen. That is the method I have found to be most effective.

Garden fence 2' high here, wood and chicken wire....no more rabbit problem Yep, that' what I do. Then I stalk them in the winter with bow and arrow. No use wasting good meat shooting them in the summer.
