Going to San Antoine for the 4th of July Week. Thinking of maybe doing a charter in the gulf for a day.

Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for guides?

Your about 150-170 miles from the water in San Antonio, when you say gulf do you mean you want to go deep sea fishing in the actual gulf or inshore for like trout and redfish. Deep sea fishing private charters are pretty expensive $1500-2000 for 6 people or you can find a head/party boat that usually has 20-40 people on it for around $60-100 a person. Inshore guides will be around $600-800 for 3-4 people if your pricing stuff

Thanks for the info guys.

I would like to go out in the gulf. But the bay would be ok too.

There is a power plant lake near my daughters place where they stock red fish. Suppose to be really good there. I may wind up just going there. And maybe Canyon lake to fish for bass. Didn't want to drag my boat all the way down there. But may decide to do it anyway.

If you want to go offshore I would call “dolphin docks” in port a, they have a good fleet of boats and are great priced for the party boat stuff. Look up there website and check out some pictures.

Lake calaveras and lake braunig are the two lakes in San Antonio that have redfish. Most of the guides there troll for them and seem to do pretty well, would be a much cheaper option, prob get a boat for $2-400. I’ve never done it before myself but there’s a few guys pages I see on Facebook that always catch a bunch of em. They are usually very spotted up too with 10-20 spots on each side, very pretty for pictures or to mount.
