That ought to get some interest!

Paul has let me put these types of posts here before and we've had lots of interest when I do it.......

I've been successful over the years advertising on trapping websites to hire people around the country.....

I've been chasing another statewide public safety project in North Dakota for years and we prevailed......

Like many other states, my company will be deploying a statewide public safety communications network.......this is a truncated radio system (Motorola) that will allow ALL first responders to communicate on a single platform (As information, one of the "good" things that came out of the 9-11 disaster was the development of a SINGLE communications network vs. EVERY agency having their own individual networks.....many of which failed during 9-11 when the towers fell)

Any how, this will be a 3-5 year project, plenty of time to establish residency........:)

What do I need? Field project managers and field construction managers. Guys on site as our subs build all of these sites (several 300-400 feet tall)

We are the GC and manage the entire project A to Z......

We hire people ALL the time with NO telecommunications background and train them up in a year or two. Entry level income is different than guys showing up with a good resume. Ideally, if NO experience, a guy or gal with a basic understanding on ANY type of construction helps.....but they also have to be good communicators and have the ability to manage civil, electrical, and tower crews and all the nuances thereof.........

I don't expect everyone on here to jump at this....but hoping you have a son, nephew, brother, cousin, etc. that might be!

We'd ship the guys to Iowa or Michigan for a while to train-up on those similar states' projects.....

PM me if interested or send me a resume at:

I will come out of retirement
35 years as general contractor with civil experience
I would want a salary with production bonuses, truck, laptop and tracking software

Let me get this correct - so there will be just one communication system a terrorist has to take down? blush

I think why most communication went down was the SYSTEMS were overloaded. TOO many people on at one time. Don't think any ONE system would stand up to the amount of traffic such a disaster would cause.

He's talking about a mobile/portable radio system consisting of multiple towers throughout the state to interconnect radio communications of police, fire and EMS. Taking out a single tower won't take out the entire system. A well built and engineered system would take a large scale coordinated attack to disable. Additionally, the system, again if well designed, will be digital and have much more capacity then could be realistically utilized with almost unlimited talkgroups.

In short, the project he is talking about, I'm assuming, will not be very vunerable to compromise and will not lack necessary capacity.

Kinda makes me wish I had been a little nicer to you last year at Escanaba. You going to be at the NTA this year?
