I paint mine. If I had 400, a pressure washer, a cement mixer, a car wash, a weed burner torch, etc. like the real trappers I might do different. Not into getting bait stink in my wax. ( I know I'm anal that way )
The other year my son picked up a box full of spray paints. For a time my dps were like Easter eggs, all different colors.

For storage place all your traps In 5 gallon buckets fill with water then snap on the lid. Then place In the freezer. I works for fish. LOL

You’re mind must be going too.

To each his own.

Agree 100%.

Most of my traps have a bead of wax on the dog when I first set them for the year. Snap it off and set it. I have never had problems with waxed dog proofs firing randomly.

Just get a couple of the small files that fit in the trigger notch and do file the end of the dog and the wax or dip will be gone. When I dip my traps I use the file on all the dogs and triggers, what ever type they are.

I wax mine. Clean the triggers, they set fine, and hold coon just fine too. Take care of equipment and it will last you a long time of fun service.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
