It really amazes me what is out there to find and wonder how some of this material is formed. The indentation is 3" deep, 11" long, 5" wide on one end. 6" wide in the middle, and 5 1/2" on the other end.

There are some really cool rocks along the rivers and streams - NICE FIND!!

That's what is so strange as there is no creek, river or water anywhere near this thing. The nearest thing is a draw that heads on the side of a hill about 1/2 mile away that probably had water a couple of hundred years ago. This is out on the top of a hill.

Track don't look all that fresh but I'd get up on that hill and do some tree-knocking. That's what Bobo would do.

It appears to be a metate, which was used with a mano, by Native Americans to grind corn and other food. Basically a metate is the mortar for the pestle.
