Any reports from the rendezvous at Rathdrum, Idaho?

Weather is a bit chilly but no rain. And a beautiful location. Plus a great lineup of demos. Just about perfect.

Hope they have a good turnout, can't wait to see pictures. smile

Had a great time with my nephew at the United Trappers of Idaho. I am no photographer, but I did take some pictures. [Linked Image]

Nice pics. Thanks for the info and pics. I wish I was there but instead we butchered 40fryers today and it was way past time. Sturgeon fishing tomorrow.

I believe the western NTA will be in Twin Falls next year so that might take the place of the Idaho rondy.

I'm glad to see AKHowler there with some of his Alaska #9 traps and cookie cutters he is a wealth of knowledge and experience catching wolves and the equipment to get the job done.
Those are good pictures makes me wish I'd of been able to get out of work so I could of been there.
Like Scott I'm interested in when the dates of the western NTA Convention will be for next year.

It was a great time. Really good turnout, great demos and plenty of vendors. All the vendors I spoke to said they had a good show. The fur show was super nice, the food was very good and it looked like they made a bunch of money at the Live Auction.

Great time, as was expected. Good group of people around. My bird dogs and I enjoyed it very much. I got to watch three wolf demos from 4 accomplished wolf trappers. Was really nice to be able to take bits and pieces from each of their demos to try to fit all the puzzle pieces of wolf trapping together.

Yeah, the event went really well. Certainly no stone left unturned as far as wolf demos. That was probably some of the most concentrated instruction ever in the lower 48. They were well attended, entertaining and had great questions, I saw lots of note taking. All were filmed and will hopefully be up on one of the organization websites soon.

Demos were supposed to be an hour each but ran closer to 2 with all the questions. AKhowler was a tough act to follow with his 70" TV screen photo tour of his AK trapline. White wolves, caribou and moose. Glad we don't have to deal with the overflow here...maybe the freezing slush is OK after all. Other demos were from guys in the Clearwater, St. Joe, Couer D'alene mountains. Pretty cool to see all the variations, adaptations and methods. I took a lot away . I wasn't able to catch all the demos but there were plenty more going on too. IDFG was there and gave a well received presentation. Rusty closed the demos with some good thoughts on the future and trapping responsibly. Was cool to see the representation from most of the western states - some guys drove a long way and the "United we Stand" message was strong. Kudos to the organizers and especially the N. Idaho crew who busted butt on the venue. I'm sure Rusty will have a big writeup and pics over on the ITA facebook page - check it out.

Five days gone. Over 1,000 miles driven, home at 2:30 AM. Exhausted but just got done with largest trapping event ever held in state of Idaho. Can’t say enough about Delbert Jepson and his crew, they worked their tails off. Andy Weiser and NO BS traps said the biggest convention they ever had. No BS guy sold every single trap he bought. Approximately 325 through the gate, don’t have final gate numbers yet. Western will be even bigger next year I promise. Loved the unity and support from Washington and Montana trapping associations. This was not an event to be missed. So much to do and so little of time. There were many enjoyable conversations with everyone I talked to and great deals around every corner. The demos were top notch and the dinner - well let's just say if there had been any leftover plates they could have auctioned them off for a fortune.
And worth the trip itself to hear AK Howlers's (JR) story about the turd gobbling wolf.
