Who makes the best wolf fang driver? We have a cheap driver that doesn’t always release the anchor when you pull the driver back out of the ground.

Take a file to the one you have and dress up the edges. Then give it a quick heat treat to help it keep from deforming, with the cheap steel they use, if you heat to a Dull Cherry red and quench in light oil it will harden but not end up brittle. It extends the life of them for a while longer.

To be clear, when I say it will harden, it will become resistant to deforming but will be no where near knife hard. It will still deform and mushroom but it will take longer.

And then when it finally gives up, Look up Stalker Fabrications. Tom makes some real good equipment.

I have owned 2 from John Graham and 1 from Stalker. Both work excellent. The stalker is lighter and seems to drive a little nicer. I haven't put it through the abuse I put Grahams through though.

Lee Steinmeyer made me a 36” Stainless steel one a few years back. I’ve used it for quite a bit more than just driving fangs, and it looks as good now as it did then. I’m sure I’ll lose it before I wear it out. I’m ordering 2 if I ever lose this one

The reason your anchor comes out when you pull the driver Is because the anchor Is being deformed. This means the slot In the driver Is to tight and doesn't allow for the deformed anchor.

I've got both of these as well and I will say I find myself grabbing for Stalker's due to the fact of the weight on Graham's. Both are very reliable and I haven't been able to break either one yet. I have Graham's for backup if Stalker's ever breaks, but I will be buying another one of his when it happens. Tom will be the first to tell you that at some point every driver will fail some much quicker than others.
