Lots of Indiana guardsmen are called yellow jackets and shout Wide Awake! Wide Awake! Every drill and have no clue why!

I use to to reenact the Corydon Yellow Jackets , that were actually were called Spencers Yellow Jackets. Why they were called yellow jackets was due to the yellow fringe trim on there hunting frock. The last time they had a reenactment at Tippecanoe was in 1984 and I was there. I can't post any pic's , wish that I could. By the way Spencer's Yellow Jackets was William Henry Harrison scouts and body gaurds. At Tippecanoe to this day there are trees with crooked lower branches that was due to the regular army units using buck shot. The Yellow Jackets were militia, they used rifles and muskets , the battle was fought early in the morning while it was still dark. The captain of the yellow jackets was Spier Spencer.

Lots of interesting things happened in that era. Reel Foot Lake for one. If one doesn't mind mixing astrology and bible it really gets interesting with the curse of the Saturn and Jupiter crossover.
I have a very good friend that claims to be Tecumseh's ggggg granddaughter. Her grandmothers name was Beaver. I dug into this stuff some years ago.
So I guess if you believe you should only cut your toe nails when the sign is right then that sort of thing may be of interest to you. However in Judges 5:20 it says "They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera." Our Wisdom comes from God and not the stars, but I believe if we fight God then it may come that all things will be against us including the weather and even the stars.
I am watching to see what man may do secondly to watching what God will do.

I find it fascinating that you can trace a few specific guard units clear back to that battle. And further before we became a territory.

I recognized one of the actors from bat. He was an officer. Asked him about some of the history and he didn't have a clue outside the weapons and gear from that era he was showing off.

I live close to Tecumseh country and been interested in all things Indians since a kid. Seen a Tomahawk from the battle just sold the other day for $1375.

I thought it was around 4 in the morning but wasn't for sure. In the museum there is round ball with teeth marks , where the indians would chew on the round ball and spit it down the barrel. They would carry a couple in their mouth for quick shot. More men were lost on the way back home then during the battle , due to infection from the chewed round ball.
