Yellow jackets
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Jackets_(Indiana)
Lots of Indiana guardsmen are called yellow jackets and shout Wide Awake! Wide Awake! Every drill and have no clue why!

I use to to reenact the Corydon Yellow Jackets , that were actually were called Spencers Yellow Jackets. Why they were called yellow jackets was due to the yellow fringe trim on there hunting frock. The last time they had a reenactment at Tippecanoe was in 1984 and I was there. I can't post any pic's , wish that I could. By the way Spencer's Yellow Jackets was William Henry Harrison scouts and body gaurds. At Tippecanoe to this day there are trees with crooked lower branches that was due to the regular army units using buck shot. The Yellow Jackets were militia, they used rifles and muskets , the battle was fought early in the morning while it was still dark. The captain of the yellow jackets was Spier Spencer. Reported to have started at 4 am. Showed my kids some tree damage.
