Before you start trapping them, I think it would be a good idea to fatten them up with ground governor.

I proposed in a game board meeting that tag holding trappers be allowed to retain cougars caught in trap set for other critters. They looked at me like I had just whizzed in the punch bowl. Finally, a response was given in the form of a question: "do you know what the public would do to us?" Shows how much science and biology has to do with management in this state. The Pennsylvania Game Commission has done a terrific job of informing and educating the public about the premise, and the great success of the" North American model" of wildlife management. They issue press releases almost daily somewhere in the state about science based wildlife management and the problems of trying to manage wildlife with emotions. It's a shame that more state wildlife agencies don't have the gumption to tackle this type of program. I would imagine that it's to late for this in most blue states, although PA. is a blue state. Takes guys like Gary Alt to grab the reins and move.

No matter what they tell us,its all politics. Bingo. We have a two day season per year and one fish per person limit on red snapper. If you get past the 100 foot depth line those things are pretty much all ya catch. we call them locust fish here but federal fish and game needs to protect them bla bla bla

And yet the same agency hires WS for a large amount of money to kill by trap, snare, and hound the very same cougars you have to release from your traps. I guess the public is ok with that? Lol

I know some of our Fish & Game biologists would be thrilled to have licensed trappers thin the long-tail population out by allowing us to trap them. The problem is higher up than that.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Lol It also gets my goat when odfw rushes out to save the public from close encounters with cougars . The libtard public voted against cougar control by hound hunters and should have to live with the consequences
