I just looked in there catalog from 2015-20116. Show's it is 41.50 plus postage. Says it includes 1992 and 2003 updates. I'd say save 58.50 and order it from nancy 406-436-2234
Let me sugar coat this

Save nearly all of your money and buy Land Sets and Trapping Techniques by Charles Dobbins. Best trapping book on the market.
Btw...I have Hoofbeats of a Wolfer. Pic quality is bad. You might pick up a tip or two if you read it about three times.

I found my copy fascinating and VERY educational.I wasn't a novice when I bought mine, but I still get mine out from time to time. One thing its not is the same old rehash that many other authors are famous for.I loved the info on coyote trapline history on different wolfers, the numbers that they took, the equipment that they used and how they operated.I will agree with Wolfdog about his book"High rolling fox trapping"about the Mafia set part being the same, but that's where the similarities end,I've never met O'Gorman but judging by the way he writes being Politically correct is not in his DNA.He definitely tells it like it is and a lot of guys are put off by that.I don't trap in the west, never have,I'm in the upper peninsula of Michigan but I can still adapt his methods and the "coyotology"that he exudes. What I found interesting when I first got on to him back in the mid '80's was the different types of habitats, animal populations and problems he encountered thru working different states as either a professional fur trapper or working as a government trapper. Most books dealt with one type or way of doing things, which was really hard to understand when your young with not a lot of experience and the prior books you'd read had nothing in common with the conditions in your area and that was because the authors of these books had no experience outside of their area.I'm not down on any author or book out there today, there's so many out there anymore and I'm sure a lot of good ones. But in my opinion O'Gorman gets you thinking like a coyote,or wolfer after him.If your just looking for a this is how I make a dirt hole,or this is my version of a flat set I could see where you'd be disappointed.I think it was around $35-$40 for my copy and I know for a fact its paid itself back many times over in coyote pelts.Just my 2 cents worth.

His vhs tape was very informational the quality was so so for the time era! Hope he makes a new one with todays video technology!I'll say hands down the best yote trapping video ive seen! The details on sett making was outstanding and locations and why! Videos that show sets being made then zomming out to show location then checking them later with catchs ! Those are my kind of videos. Not a fan of videos that show catch after catch and the same exact style of set repeatedly. That said if feel books are more personable! And id gladly own and read hoofbeats!

When I pickup a copy back in the 80s it had info. He gives credit where its due. Like it or not the Man has killed some predators in his lifetime. Info is there,,, But personal instruction might be a better answer for some guys. It's just like school we learn better from some teachers than others. Imo

I have coal shale here in Illinois. Lots of places where strip mines dumped it. Some places have big piles of it right along the road where you can just pull over and dig it. Some of that coal shale he has out there is grey and some of it is black and I bet it would burn. Any of it works.
Yeah - those videos are tough to hear sometimes. I had one eaten and had to take it and copied to CD to watch it. I met Craig he's a nice guy. There are many good ideas in those videos and books. He analyses ideas way more than most folks do and comes a some interesting conclusions. He hung around some pretty good trappers and what else is there to do in Powder River County Montana?
Just passin through
