Just popped here in Sugar Hill NH.......today’s pic....the locals said they were late this year...due to the extended winter season. So who else has these ?

I don't think they are native here.

What use are they?

Several varieties of lupines are toxic to animals and cause discomfort to humans when ingested. The poison is present in the foliage, but mostly it's in the seeds.

Lupines in New Hampshire? I thought they were only in the mountain west. Learn something new every day on Trapperman.

Saw quite a few in northern Wisconsin yesterday. Had no idea they were potentially toxic.

^ this. We have it here and is a native plant. Lewis and Clark collected it and documented lupines all along their route.

It comes in a good mix of colors. Most common is the dark blue from what I have seen. I have seen it in a verity of light purples and white in the wild too.
