A guy I used to work with had an outfit like that and a Harley motorsicle. They were both about the same size but I think the Cooper got better mileage.

Zim, the Cooper was probably faster than the Harley. Harley's go slow when I follow them down the road.

bvrtrpr, I went back up Brooks hill yesterday in the Mini. I had the cruse control set at 67 when I hit the bottom. I shut it off with out my foot on the gas and was doing just over 80 when I hit the top. If I would have down shifted into 5th I bet I could have been doing better. It took about half the hill for it to recoup from shutting the cruse off with out my foot in it.

Put enough miles on a truck and you realize a commuter car will save you the cost of the car and the insurance on it when you no longer rack up the miles on the truck. I've put a lot of critters in the back of my Ford Focus while the truck sits in the driveway. Fold the seat forward and even deer slide right in.

Make sure the back seat folds down on the car you buy. Some of the older cars the back seat doesn't fold down.

I had a little car back when I was driving 40 miles one way to work. It more than paid for its self on saved fuel. I had a Ford diesel 1 ton at the time. It got 15 mpg on the highway, so I needed something. Two gallons of gas compared to five to six of diesel was nice.
run the seats are down on it. The dog like to walk back there and look out the windows.

Back in school I used to have a 66 Rambler Classic on which the front seat folded down.
That was handy too. It had 3 on the tree with a handle under the dash you could pull
out for an overdrive gear.

I just filled the Mini up and check the mileage. 403 miles and it took 11.434 gallons to fill it. I was trying to get 12 in and that was all she would take. 35.245 Miles per gallon. The more I drive it the more I like it.
