These were employed in the 105 Howitzer for close range and clearing the jungle of enemy.

Think I heard once they were made for military by nail factory in Oregon??? Retool a machine to pinch the fins on wire instead of making nail head..

the more I learn and try and test and such the more I end up finding that my grandfather was right.

12 ga 2 3/4 #4 high brass full choke , aim true , just plane works.

it was what he ran on fox and wild dogs at the farm, anything that else that needed putting down

there may be better things , and slugs have their place but for general purpose you can carry one box of shells in the truck with the one shotgun and do the most with it.

it makes for a very effective on most anything inside 25 yards and some things out to about 50.

I have never tried it because it is illegal but , I think you could take a deer with it at 20-25 yards if you shot it in the neck

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

It probably would kill a deer, I knew a guy that used to poach deer if the opportunity came up, all he used was high brass 2 3/4 inch #2s.
This way he wouldn't be caught with slugs or buckshot.
I can attest that lead # 4s out of a 410 kills coons just fine inside of 20yds.

I remember reading that the flechettes were being tried out of a 12 ga during the Vietnam war. supposed to penetrate heavy foliage better then buckshot at close range.
I don't think they caught on though.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
