My mom used to always plant a second garden of basically everything she had in the first one, around the last week of July. With the exception of winter squash and pumpkins. Turnips make a good fall crop. My mom always hoped for some of the latter rains to supply her fall garden and very often got them. I have planted potatoes in the last week of July and usually they are a flop with one exception and they really put out. And no matter what it is esp. cucumbers in the late cool weather is always crunchy and delicious. Of course you have to beat the frost and that's a guess.
Those green beans in cool fall always have lots of snap. If she had lots of green tomatoes right before she knew a frost was coming she would gather them in and we would have green fried tomatoes, she also made green tomato relish with cabbage and green mango peppers. Well, I got to think of something else, I'm getting homesick for the good 'ol days

Plant some sweet corn. Probably our favorite veggie in the garden. I know that technically it's not a veggie, but you get the idea.

My squash are producing good now that I planted the middle of may and cukes are too, and I just put some new plants in this week so I can have squash all summer, I would think you could replant squash where you are now and be fine. Probably squash, cucumber, tomatoes, corn would all produce

Lettuce now and every 2 weeks until first of august.. Going to plant another planting os sweet corn next couple of days. I am from west central Illinois. Probably get frost 2 weeks before you. You ever tried purple hull peas up that way. They mature fairly quick. Wonder if a person could pull it off that far north?

how about broccoli. That will give small pieces until a real heavy frost.

I just replanted green beans for the third time this year! All this rain has done a number to my raised beds.
