Looking for recommendations for a good leather belt that will work for IWB carry and also open carry on occasion.
Also, one that does a decent job of keeping a guys pants up at the same time.
I don't mind spending a little money, $100 tops or so.

Thanks, Zim

I have a thick leather belt I picked up from the Amish saddle shop that works well for my IWB I paid about 30-40 dollars I don't recall exactly that was about 2-3 years ago

if I didn't have that I would be looking at a Alien gear belt it has a thin band of stainless steel sewn into it to keep it from sagging.

I have an Alien gear holster for IWB the SS in it is still flexible but keeps it stiff in the right direction.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I have a crossbreed belt. I love it, it is the best belt ive ever had. I have worn it for 2-3 years now and it has held up incredibly well. When i first got it i lost a screw from the buckle hardware and the company sent me a replacement quick. I put a little locktite on them and no problems since. I have worn the belt surf fishing in the gulf for a few days and cant tell i did that. The hardware finish has worn a bit but that is it. I highly recommend crossbreed, i have one of their IWB holsters and its the same top quality. 0 problems. When this belt eventually wears out in several several years i will buy another. It is thick and sturdy and is purpose build for carry IWB or OWB.

Do you have any Amish nearby? They will make whatever belt you need. Thicker wider, whatever. They make their own harnesses for their horses. My son and father-in-law had an Amish guy make belts for them while they waited and watched. In little time at all, they had completed belts in hand for less than $30 each.

Now that is a good thought, yes there are Amish near here.

Thanks Pete and Carl

I've got a Grip6 belt that I like, but it's not leather and i haven't tried it with an IWB holster.

My next belt will probably be a ratchet belt, like a Slide Belt. It offers 1/4" adjustments with no holes.

Zim, Check out Hunter Leather/Holsters. They make a lot of American made leather products including gun belts, regular belts, holsters, rifle scabbards, soft gun cases, knife sheaths, slings and more. They are based out of Colorado. Lots of gun shops carry their stuff. I wear a belt made by them daily and have several of their holsters and gun belts. All top quality and made in the USA.

Ive carried an IWB holster with a fairly heavy sig 239 in an alien gear belt. This has been for over 5 years with no sag and looks good still. Id buy another in a heartbeat

I bought an amish one at a gun show and then couldn't find any replacements after the house mutt chewed it up.

Then I found, JJ Gun Shop Brookville Ohio sells them, the amish ones. I just bought a brown one and a black one. Give them a call.

p.s. when you buy an amish belt the inches is the length of the belt not your waist size. A 34" inch belt will be too short for a 34" waist. I'm a 32/34 and bought a 36/38.

Give him a call. https://jjgunsupply.com/ nice guy. I'm sure he'll sell and ship you one. Don't be in a hurry when you call. He's a talker.

I also like the Amish made belt with the alien gear IWB holster for my 1911. Have them sew a zipper on the inside to hide cash when traveling. Like ohioboy said their sizing is different than waist size.

I've been getting all my holsters, gun belts and magazine holders from Andy Arratoonian (Horseshoe Leather Products) for the last twenty years. His products are handmade and top quality. His gun belts are normal width, not extra wide like some others, and very stiff (no sag).

Unfortunately, due to age (he is 83 now), failing eyesight and being recently diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, Andy has temporarily closed his order book until he gets caught up. I found out when I went to his sight to place an order for holsters and mag holders my recent purchase of a pair of Sig-Sauer P365's.

He is based near North Yorkshire, England and is an old-world craftsman.

I'm hoping someone will suggest a site that makes products comparable to Andy's.

Eh...wot?

The Belt Man, I'll probably never buy any other brand again. Look him up online and give him a call. Extremely helpful in making sure you get the belt you need.

X2 I have one on right now. It's the best belt I've ever worn and it really distributes the weight, a good belt makes it feel like the gun and holster weigh less. I got it with the steel core and really like it. Fast turn around time also.

I just got this one from "Hanks". It's one solid piece of leather, about 1/4" thick (you can see the thickness next to a standard dress belt). The new holster will be here today, so I haven't tried it out yet. This belt was $58.00 and I think I'm going to like it. It also has a 100 year - 100% warranty, which includes free shipping back and forth. [Linked Image]
