I gifted my 3o-30 marlin to my daughter a few seasons ago and a four-wheeler incident(which thank goodness could have been a lot worse)resulted in the stock being cracked. She really wants to keep the original stock due to sentimental value. I quickly glued and clamped it up last season but with damp or rainy weather the wood swells …………...any suggestions on a better adhesive and a good way to clean out the cracks with minimal damage? a few pics...………... I drilled through mine and glued a wooden dowel into the hole. Years ago, maybe 25 years ago, still use it no problems.......jk

epoxy and a brass pin or epoxy and a wood dowel

a gun smith should have you fixed up easily if he is any good with wood

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

X2 ^^^^^^
sometimes if the crack is a long deep one, your better off to finish it so you can degrease the wood easier.

This is what they taught us in Gunsmith School, pry the cracks open and ooze Acraglas down in there then screw the brass pin into a pre-drilled hole.

Take the stock off and dremel across the crack and lay a cut off screw in the groove that you cut. Then epoxy or acraglas the screw into place. Be careful not to cut into the outside of the stock. The repair will be hidden on the inside.
