I married my wife on this day. We got married in the oldest Catholic church in San Francisco and then had everybody drive 2 hours to a great riverside spot that a friend owned. Dogs and kids were invited and it was pretty much a 150 person potluck. We had just opened our first fly shop and didn't have much money but we had barbecued chicken, cold beer and wine in a horse trough and plenty more for everybody. After lunch there were lots swimming in the river with the labradors, some taking naps in the shade and others just happy meeting new people. It was a special piece of land as I had originally poached it for catfish and smallmouth but later met the owner and we became friends. He insisted that our party was at his place.
It's been a great ride, like a 33 year camping trip, but we've been lucky and never had kids and that gave us the freedom to take risks.
A great weekend to all. The hay is cut, the gardens are doing well, and life is good.
All from the eastern front.
Pete

Happy anniversary and here is to the next 33 years.

Pete, never disappointed in your threads. This ones no different. Well done to you and the Mrs.. Still planning on building my Humboldt Bay duck scull. I hadn’t forgotten.
