What is illegal today was legal when our forefathers came here. Langauge....many never really learned English.

But if one doesn't know English they are STUPID and will always be less than they could be. Want to get ahead and advance, speak the language, you'll get farther faster that way.

If people can not speak English in most cases they can not read English. There are a lot of sign not in Spanish and safety instruction. What happens when LE has to deal with them and maybe a threat, things can go bad fast. Why do we have to pay to have someone in our Secretary of State Office that can speak Spanish. If you can not speak and read English just how well do you think they are informed on the issues. JMO.

The "Grandmas" were not mine they were my friends families mostly German and Polish folks many were to old to leave the house the point being the 2nd and 3rd generations did learn the language and embrace our culture! Not learning would be the exception for these folks the elders were just set in their ways and the 2nd generation took care of them. If they left the home few would understand them as it was a multi ethnic neighborhood but all were Americans.

At the moment, I am amused at the anti American posts on here to those who champion diversity. The ignorance in people thinking the United States just "happened" is uninformed, as it required almost 100 years of failure before trade actually began.
