I would like to point out that those on this thread who are critical of those here who are tired of this lack of assimilation and essentially what amounts to an invasion...has no one else noticed they live in some of the LEAST ethnically diverse places in the country ? James’ region is probably a bit more diverse due to the Native population. But I’m curious to know when was the last time they actually heard someone speaking Spanish . Especially as they don’t know English, in particular. Here ? Daily.

I was at the National Air Museum in D.C. ( I think, every time you turn around you are in a different State) my first time there. I was at the snack bar and wanted a spoon. The young gal working there did not know what I wanted, she did not understand me. I said it slowly and clear, now that is BS.

I'm really glad I missed that. I believe whatever country you are in you should speak the language. I'm semi-fluent in Spanish but I don't use Spanish when on American soil. They need to speak our language... or at least make an attempt to speak it. I'm fine with that.

English is the spoken language of the U.S. You speak whatever other language you want. But English is what is spoken. Yes we where a melting pot. But the school system is teaching we are a fruit salad. Look it up. It is a shame what we have allowed to happen. Vulgar hot head is my prefered language at work. Speaking whatever language at home is no problem. The more languages necessary for public purposes the more fragmented the country becomes. The word "united' is not to be taken lightly.

Comparing the the newer immigrants that don't want to assimilate to the past immigrants is no comparison.

In the past, they were proud to come here and WANTED to learn our language and were PROUD to be an American.
The ones I see now, especially the ones elected by the democrats are completely the opposite.

The apologists for them are no better an American, IMO.

Caselaw is a huge component of the US Legal system. I don't see how caselaw can be dismissed so readily. I am sure Lexisnexis and Westlaw would not be the huge data resources for case law that they are, if caselaw was not critical in the US. Lexisnexis alone is worth close to 23 billion.
