nvwrangler OP trapper N Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 4,838 Nevada	Took 2 of the dogs to this training today hope its a good investment. My boss said it worked great on his shorthair.

trap master trapper T Joined: Aug 2012 Posts: 484 MO	id really be interested in this as well. id love to go to west texas, new mexico, Arizona for some desert quail hunting and its a real fear of mine having the dog encounter a rattle snake and the potential outcome. look forward to advice from those in the know.

MJM trapper M Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 9,685 ND	I watch a demo of training a dog to avoid rattlesnakes. They planted a snake in a bush and walked by it with the dog on a leash. When the dog winded it and turned to it they lite it up with a shock collar. They move the snake to another bush and kept walking the dog around. Thats the basics but here they did several different variations of hidden snakes and in the open plus just freash snake shed skins in a hole to get a reaction and negative reinforcement.
