I personally don't think that any war made America, it was the people. War was always just a means to an end to obtain or continue freedom and a way of life wanting to live. Think about it.

Never thought about it in that manner.
Quick thoughts are both against what was considered the most powerful military of the time and we rose to the occasion. The Revanutionary and war of 1812.
To me, these bought us our independence.

Spanish American war is the one that established the US as an international power and established a US presence in the Pacific Good point. That really started American Imperialism.

The Revolutionary War created America. The War of 1812 produced American global trade in the Clippers. The Mexican War shaped Manifest Destiny. The Civil War federalized America. The Spanish American War was the stepping stone to global Naval power. Both World Wars turned the United States away from capitalism and into socialism by Wilson production quotas and FDR national socialized corporations. All wars since have been debt wars to return the bribes from two world wars back to European banking which has America entering the community disorganized era or the state choice of communism or socialism to be managed under.
Edit: The war which the United States did not fight and should have, was the War of 1866, immediately after the Civil War, to punish the French in Mexico and the British in Canada for daring to instigate the abolitionist war with planned invasions from Mexico and Canada of the United States. What stopped the Europeans was the Russian Imperial Navy came to Lincoln's aid and parked off the coast of the United States. As Theodore Roosevelt stated, America by right should have taken everything from the Red River west in Canada as it was American by right. America still has right to northern Mexico as it was Texas lands. There never was American Imperialism. That is a leftist charge to pinion the United States. America lost because she did not fulfill her destiny as American Continentalism. America is in the process of being balkanized and that America will not survive in Lincoln's house divided. The plot of 1861 succeeded in the plot of 2008.

Although America was late getting to the fighting,I would say the second world war is what made America a world power to be reckoned with. This was due to their economic might.

1866: good point and also the Louisiana Purchase. We bought the Louisiana territory because a of Frances war debt.
1866: would've been good to help our southern neighbors. Maybe they couldce become a stable neighbor and we wouldn't have the problems we have today.

The Civil War created the country we have today. It flipped the ship. No longer was it the people, the state, the federal government, it became just the opposite. It created the bloated bureaucracy we have today.
