I soak my truck well with the hose and while that is softening dirt and bugs, prepare some Dawn in warm bucket of water. On non painted surfaces, such as grill work, buckstopper, bumper, bug guard...I use a soft scrub brush . A dobie pad will work also. Work the soap on in circular pattern by hand , it will come off. Rinse and let dry. I wax my truck with TR3, and the pinstriped areas with a high quality bike wax. Applying wax to the grill and bumper areas helps a lot in keeping bugs from sticking and washes off easier. A coat of olive oil , Armor All, or the like , on plastic parts, rubbed on with a rag, on iron buskstopper insures easy wash off of bugs too. Rain X helps a lot also in coating a surface , making bug and grime clean off easy too...but Im not sure if over time , it may yellow headlight casings or not. Those usually age with weather and light in time, anyway. When I had chooks, they couldnt wait till I turned off the engine, to pick with surgical precision every bug off the front end that they could reach.

You all are going to love this one and it works great. Bounce dryer sheets wet one and use it like a washrag over the previously wetted down area. The built-in softener loosens them right off and the paper(?) helps remove any chunks. Yeah I know, I was skeptical also till I tried it. It has not affected my headlights or clearcoat in any way.

I let the rain, sun and time take care of them, just like all the other dirt on my truck.

Have a 2019 Chevy and with all the rain a lot of bugs splattered on the truck frontend. What does everybody use to clean them off ? The normal sponge and soap is not working. Maybe hotter water ? Does is matter the make and year of the vehicle when it comes to the cleaning process? If it does, you should ask a specific group because an owner of a 1996 Ford f150 might not be able to help you.

I use the pressure washer at the car wash all the time, never had a problem. Why would they have them at the car wash if you cant use them, lol. I use it on the 4 wheelers too after a mud ride.

The gas-powered ones that they sell will strip the paint or any plating off. My neighbor removed all the fake chrome off his new super duty before he figured that out. I'm telling you - wet dryer sheets work great. Even a bee hit at 85mph wipes right off.

First, to remove the large bug parts, pull in my driveway. The girls will surround your truck and gently pick off all of the bugs. Then wash according to others' instructions given here. Sorry. I just had to chime in.

Kinda off the subject, but reminds me of the time my wife pressure-washed my smaller 16 foot boat. She included my Eagle depth finder. My advice: Never pressure wash your depth finder. I did find a used one on Ebay that hooked right up to my wiring harness. I was lucky. No, make that, she was lucky.
