You all remember that scene from the movie Jeramiah Johnson, where the Grizzly Bear comes running into the Cabin?
Picture it.....
Old Canvasback gets up at 2:30 AM this Morning to get myself a fresh glass of water from the Kitchen. My old Lab wakes up from his deep sleep on the couch , and decides he has to take a late night pit stop. So, I let the Dog out in the Backyard . Less than 10 minutes later, I open the back door to let my Dog in the house.
THE INTERESTING PART BEGINS !!!!
It had rained pretty hard yesterday, so the lawn was still wet. I heard this heavy, loud running of feet in the backyard.
SOMEONE TRIED TO BREAK INTO THE HOUSE , AND MY OLD LAB WAS IN HOT PURSUIT !! , I opened the back door, yelled for my Dog to get in the house. My Lab , sounding like a Work Horse on a flat out run, comes roaring up the steps with the intruder in pursuit of MY DOG!!
The dog comes running through the Kitchen and heads straight to the Living Room , leaving ME to deal with the intruder that was, by this time, NOW IN MY KITCHEN!!
Now, you got to remember that by now , it was 2:38 in the Morning , and I was just getting up to get a glass of WATER!! I WAS IN NO WAY PREPARED TO DO BATTLE !
Next thing you know , I am chasing it around the KITCHEN!!!
It dodged left, then right . Then he went under the Kitchen table !!
I looked at him , and he looked at me. Both trying to figure out the next move!
That is when my eye caught sight of the broom !! ( gotta use whatever is handy at times like these !!)
It moved out from under the table , and there was my chance !!
Like a line drive down a Golf Course, it went flying out the back door !
