good thing they don't get any bigger than they do or you'd need stitches to close the bite marks.

The poor dogs face was all swollen yesterday from those things. She hates them as bad as I do.
I have nothing clever to put here.

Deer fly patches help some. At least till they get full or you stick your hand to it.

When we first moved to where we are now the deer Flys were really bad. I tried Avon skin so soft on my hat and head and that kept them from bitting. I put it on my dogs ears and nose and it kept them off the dog. Don't know if Avon still sells it.

Deer fly bite cured my severe tendonitis. But, back to hating the dirty scoundrels.

I had a friend who did a lot of research on them a few years ago and he found an article where a guy in either Maine or Canada found the flies were attracted by a medium blue color and he rigged up a plastic flower pot he spray painted blue on a piece of pvc pipe. He then sprayed the plastic flower pot with tanglefoot. He attached the rig to his bike and could ride at a leisurely pace without getting mugged by the deer flies. He could then enjoy riding his bike in the afternoons without getting attacked because the flies went after the blue flower pot and got stuck in the tanglefoot adhesive. I had not seen any use for going to Maine or Canada if I had to do all that stuff, I have the state bird called the saltwater mosquito here anyway.
Tanglefoot is the real deal, as is the color blue Instead of deer fly patches, buy tanglefoot and some blue plastic beer cups. Deer flies always land on the highest point first. If you are in the garden, etc, wear a hard hat, or other hat, and tape a beer cup to the top of it. Slather it with some tanglefoot, and it is like a deer fly target. Throw it away after. Cheaper than deer fly patches...you just look kind of stupid.

Cover up with heavy loose clothing(flannel) and they cant bite you.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
