I thought it read barrel storage warehouse. I would take that to mean EMPTY barrels.

Jim Beam said they were full of very young whiskey, but don't worry they have 126 warehouses throughout Kentucky. So here's to ya. smile

It's probably time to make an amendment prohibiting alcohol after this kind of abuse.

I got a buddy that’s pretty high up the food chain. This is the press release he forwarded me:

For those asking about the Jim Beam warehouse fire:
Jim Beam Statement:

“We are thankful that no one was injured in this incident, and we are grateful to the courageous firefighters from multiple jurisdictions who brought the fire under control and prevented it from spreading. Initial reports suggest that the fire resulted from a lightning strike, and we will work with local authorities to confirm the cause and to remediate the impacts.

We have a comprehensive warehouse safety program that includes regular inspections and rigorous protocols to promote safety and the security of our aging inventory. We operate 126 barrel warehouses in Kentucky that hold approximately 3.3 million barrels for our brands, and the warehouse that was destroyed contained 45,000 barrels of relatively young whiskey from the Jim Beam mash bill. Given the age of the lost whiskey, this fire will not impact the availability of Jim Beam for consumers.

We appreciate the support of our neighbors and the Kentucky Bourbon community as we manage through this incident.”

Do you mean John Daniel's? When you know him as well as I do you can call him John.

I have nothing clever to put here.

When I was young (23) for a few months I lived on Jim Beam, tryin' to drown my girlfriend problems. Then trapping season started and I went back to my true love, catchin' fur. Found the ideal trappers wife (a girl with little or no sense of smell). Now I only take a drink of Jim Beam if I am gettin' a cold or sore throat.
Never thought about using Jim Beam to get carp for turtle bait but that post above got me to thinkin'. Or maybe easier yet I can just fasten a Jim Beam bottle inside my turtle trap and skip the carp bait. Eric

I drive by the McLaughlin distillery sign on I79 all the time. Have thought about stopping many times, but never have. I will have to stop in there now sometime. I’ve been to Liberty Pile in Washington and it’s really good too.
