We're camped in the back section where both primitive and electrical hookups are. I am not sure what the plan was for people to use restrooms, but it would have been nice to have a few porta potties every now and then for these folks in the camping area.

On a more positive note, I will say I was impressed with the organization to get the vendors inside and offloaded quickly. I was also pleased with the way the camping was handled in terms of selecting a site and getting it registered.

But for the folks with no indoor plumbing in their tents, that restroom is a long ways away.

And Susan concurs.

Yup, trees are nice and folks are having good times visiting in the back forty. We are in the wall tent with the shower out front and air conditioning inside. Next time we will bring the porta potty.

X 3 Muskrat It looks like you have spent time in a tent before . Myself and several friends used to tent camp in Nov and archery hunt in a National Forest .We learned the hard way sometimes but I can say that we had system that allowed us to enjoy the time in camp as much as the time in the woods . In the beginning we where staying in a pop up camper .I hated it . Once we switched to a tent I always wished I could stay a few more days to hunt .I like the AC unit in the side of the tent .I would guess that makes a huge difference trying to sleep at night

We camp in some spots in the Summer where there is no electrical hook-up. The little Honda generator makes it tolerable to do this in July and August, especially on sandbars where during the middle of the day that he can be too much.

This tent was bought back in 1988 with muskrat money. Could not afford anything that nice within the family budget. I do love canvas tents. And so does Susan!

X4 you've got it figured out Muskrat! I've got one of those outhouse hunting blinds for our toilet needs. Works good! I usually that a jug with me for that 3 AM pee, Laura's jealous, after numerous attempts for a female pee trap! LOL Read where someone was using a bilge pump for a shower. What a great idea...

Great tent set up Muskrat. You showed some BP rondy pics sometime back about this and I've been meaning to get a portable ac unit ever since.

Muskrat We had a tent made by Reliable Tent Co .It was the Glacier model It had a hexagon shape with lots of room with 4 people .We all had cots and a good size table in the center .Also had a heater with a thermostat plus a small propane stove that was mainly used for making coffee .But is did serve us well for heating soup etc. For a shower we had a shower stall and we would heat a 5 gallon bucket of water to about 110 degrees and we had a battery operated pump Just put the pump in the bucket and turn it on . It was not a 5 star motel .But it allowed us to be within walking distance of the areas we hunted .And even the coldest or heavy rain days it was enough room to not make you crazy being inside

I thought you were kidding about having AC in a wall tent......until I saw the pic !!......I don’t think I could make it 1320 feet....with all that pressure on my Sphincter..........

Muskrat-The Great Black Odor is envious of the AC! One time at the Ft. Atkinson Iowa rondy I ate something bad and wound up with a bad case of the pukes and "Green Apple Quick Steps" on a 90 degree weekend. Had to sprint to the Metros, which were pretty disgusting to begin with. Continued for the next couple weeks, culminating with the Feast of the Hunters' Moon in Indiana. In-between the two rondy's came opening day of duck season with chest waders and 5 extra pair of undies...just in case.

I feel your pain with the 1/4 mile trek to the throne....

That’s the price you pay for “Primitive Camping.” Enjoy.
