Razorbacks? Havelinas? Or were they all imported? A local fella in SE Nebraska wanted to turn loose hogs on a piece of land so he could sell hog hunts. He about got tarred and feathered by the farmers. LOL! Gotta love the ingenuity though! I wish him success! This is why Missouri made hunting hogs as a sport illegal. As long as some fool thinks he can make a buck, native ecosystems be damned, we will continue having problems.

A few years ago a fella around Lincoln NE was going around stocking carp in ponds and lakes as he liked to catch them. I'm pretty sure he commited suicide the Hillary way.

Simple question from a simpleton in Wisconsin. Why in God's name would you pay money to hunt a pig when good bacon is $5 a pound in the store? Now shooting a deer is a different deal altogether.
Zim Wld pork does not taste like the stuff you get at the grocery store. think of it like turkey. Why would ya go out hunting them if ya can get a ready plucked frozen one at Wally World?
Let's go Brandon

People that live where there are a lot of wild hogs have a little different opinion on them as table fare. It usually goes something like this “if you get them not much over a hundred pounds their not to bad to actually pretty good depending on what they are eating. Anything over 250 gets pretty rank pretty quick” This is from a man that killed 193 wild hogs in one year, and kills more than a few every year. Also when you see piglets with stripes when they are young that is European genetics showing up.

And if you don’t have hogs then count yourselves blessed. They may seem like they would be nice to have to hunt, and if you could get rid of them then they might be. They’re like an STD, once you got’em you’ve got’em for life! I killed 2 yesterday evening checking/resetting traps. We kill them anytime we see them, day or night.

I wish we had hogs here. A good population that stayed and grew. It would be fun!

I wish we had hogs here. A good population that stayed and grew. It would be fun! No, you really don't. They breed like rabbits and the females can reproduce as early as 4 months old. Their population curve assuming no mortality is staggeringly exponential. The USDA presentation on them is 2 million hogs in 7 years from.a single breeding pair assuming no mortality.
