Brodhead and Monroe have them on the square , Delavan near the water tower and elephant.

virtually every city park has one

Madison city water utility had a portable potable water station they bring out for street festivals to supplement for areas without permanent ones

I like those Wisconsin drinking fountains or bubblers. I don't care what they are called as long as the water tastes good.

Drinking fountain, maybe water fountain.

I high school I met a girl from Boston. I found her a bit more interesting than the high school girls in my town - for a little while. Her nickname was "bubblah" because that's what she called them and we were silly kids.

Bubbler

worked at a place where we made the Stainless steel tops for them.
Called the top piece a "cooler top".

But the assembly is always a Bubbler!

I call it something you never see in airports anymore because they sell water for more than jet fuel.

Damned few of them here in France anymore and never in a train station or an airport.

I say only a disease vector because the water pressure is so low you can't get a drink without putting your mouth on the plastic.

Thank God we have folks in public office looking after the adjustments on those machines.

When I was a kid they worked just fine.

Ken, as per usual, you're spot on.

Toilets used to make more noise too.

I agree with your statement on the price on bottled water , it's ridiculous.

Point of interest , I've noticed that major theme parks , stadium events and other large places have lots of bottled water for sale but few fountains.
They have removed a lot of them to sell bottled water and other drinks at high profit.

However , a Six Flags employee told me that , yes , they removed quite a few however, they were not allowed to remove them all due to handicapped issues or just issues with people granted access to water as needed as a safety and health issue. Same employee told me that they were located on the outside of all the restrooms in that park.

If you don't see one in a place like an airport , ask. They may have one tucked away off the beaten track just so you spend your money first buying bottled water.

The biggest problem with bottled water is the plastic, how much of the plastic leeches back into the water. The problem with and disposing of plastic is and is going to be a real big problem in the future.
