I have been up to Escanaba twice I think in the last 5 years or so. I will say its a decent trip up, but I really enjoy the summer weather up there. Not to knock you southern boys cause I like heading south to trap in January - but I am just glad it is not down south in the middle of summer......the NTA was in my home state last week and it was a good show, but it was hot. I'd likely have preferred going back north.
That ground up there in Escanaba can take a pretty good rain shower and you wont know it rained by afternoon. I can also sleep outside in the summer up there pretty well....guys up there in Michigan do a good job as well.

Hopefully the nearest rest room won't be a quarter mile from the camping area, eh?

I think it was closer to a half mile! Least it seemed that way in the morning. First place I ever had to get in the truck to go pee!

Plenty of bathrooms on clay county fairgrounds, every year they have about 10k people through the gate daily during clay county Fair, sposed to be one of biggest county fairs in America
