Anyone use pogos a lot with frozen ground? Our ground goes concrete and im sick of going back in the spring for my super stakes so Im going completely disposable. Once in the ground, im not expecting them back. I have used wolf fangs before but can save a dime or more per stake if I go with pogos. Anyone have insight?

Your explanation is exactly why I use Pogos. I have a lot of old washers and it's easy to make them workable on the trapline and they're pretty much free.

Excuse my terrible spelling this morning. I just had my coffee now so I should be good to go.

I haven't found the perfect staking solution either. Frozen ground isn't my issue, operating in urban areas is. I really can't be leaving cable or chain in folks yards or in areas they may foul equipment. Nor is a good thing to be digging holes to retrieve super stakes. I'm currently using wolf fangs as they pull better than superstakes but I'm still having to do some digging on some. I'm migrating back to crossed rebar but really want a solution that is lighter weight and not as prone to pumping out.
Question; when setting pogos in clay what washer/j-hook combo could be trusted to hold a coyote but reliably fold the washer or open the hook when pulled with a puller.

Make a puller; that's what I did. A long bar working as a lever giving you good mechanical advantage.

Using two inch pogos, I tried to pull out a couple I had sunk about 18 inches. I couldn't and cut the fingers on my rubber glove (I know, it was stupid of me to try that with rubber gloves on). But, with the puller, it's no problem at all.

I have the heavy duty one from MTP. It won't budge superstakes sunk to the length of chain that's on them. It'll move wolf fangs with 8" cable IF I run a shovel down the cable a loosen it first.
BTW, I sink the wolf fangs until the cable is out of sight below the trap bed.

Wolf fangs with 3/32 cable when you pull cut the cable and walk away saves a lot of time, effort and your back!
