Did I read correctly that open campfires are not allowed at the venue campsites?
Does everyone camp somewhere else nearby?

They say that every year. We've only been bothered one year out of 10....

I am seriously considering hauling the travel trailer (and unwilling wife) down there next year, just thought it was odd that a campground would not allow open fires. Do most attendees who camp stay on site or camp elsewhere and commute in? I figure if I do show I'd like to have a few campfire beers with some like minded folks.

Most places just need to be elevated. I think the only place that really caused an issue was Hamburg...

I use a portable firepit, I have not had a issue, I lay a couple patio stones under it and bring a ash can with lid. If Smokey the bear shows up he can put it out and I will watch.

Why haven't the dates been set for it yet? Be nice to put in for a vacation well ahead of time. I would think the date would have already been set when they were given the bid or even when they put the bid in.

It is July 23-25, 2020. There is a full page ad with the date in the program that was handed out at the NTA in Springfield.
