I grew up in the UP where flying insects are king, but I have never seen deer flies this bad as they are this year here in NW Wisconsin.

Unusually bad in southeast PA this year too. Maybe because of the extreme wetness we've experienced over the last 18 months or so.

AWFUL here in Ky also. I think its from the rain. Deer are out in the fields in the middle of the day. I've always heard it was to get away from the biting flies.

They are insane this year. The poor dogs face gets chewed on and her eyes almost swell shut each day just being outside.

My dogs had the same thing happening to them. I covered their eyes and sprayed their heads with Adams Tick Spray. Worked like a charm.

Worst year I have seen for them in KY. I can only imagine what they are like up north this year.

Bad in Southern Ontario this year too. Drive in a field and there is10 on the window waiting for a victim.

They are puppys. Compaired to a GREEN HEAD here on the coast

They are so bad here they are eating the paint off my truck hood. Couple of them took a bite out of my side view mirror too.

LOL! No I bought it in a spray bottle about 24oz? Main reason it’s hard to find bug spray specifically recommended for dogs.

Deer flies bite, but are more annoying than anything. Horse flies are the real deal, though. When those babies bite, they really leave a big time welt.

A guy I was working with was from the West coast and I was swatting at a horse fly and asked what I was doing. He thought it was a joke, he'd never heard of horse flies. Couple of minutes later he let out a scream like a little girl, one nailed him in the middle of the back. Figured out they were no joke.

The deer flies here have overcome annoying.
I wear the patchs on the back of my hat, just walked out to the mail box.
about 400 feet and have about 30 stuck to it.
A guy at least can have fun with horse flies and a .410

They came a bit later here, but in great numbers and hungry. Our mosquitoes too were later coming with our harsh winter but boy they are really thick and hungry too this summer. We don't have many horse flies here but the deer flies make up for the lack of them.!

Deer flies and mosquitoes are both terrible around here this year. Glad I'm not running bait for bears!

They are brutal here this year also

Yep in this area a person cant hardly mow the grass without getting bombarded. They do seem worse this year.
