Yes, the tred nots, made by a nice guy from Michigan. They are less if you buy them in quantity.
They come 4 to a pack I think.
Wear them on back of a baseball style hat, they really do work.

I stepped out of the truck yesterday, knowing what I was up against. They didn't do the flying around your head torture routine. They went in for the kill. I killed four of them before they got me. 4 for 4. I win. Then like a little girl, I slunk back into my Barbie truck and drove home.

Lots of rain means lots of deer flies

noun
noun: deer fly
1. 1.
a bloodsucking horsefly that attacks humans and other large mammals. It can transmit various diseases, including tularemia.
2. 2.
a bloodsucking louse fly that is a parasite of deer. It loses its wings on finding a host, and the female gives birth to fully grown larvae.

LIFE CYCLE
The larvae of horse fly and deer fly species develop in the mud along pond edges or stream banks, wetlands, or seepage areas. Some are aquatic and a few develop in relatively dry soil. Females lay batches of 25 to 1,000 eggs on vegetation that stand over water or wet sites. The larvae that hatch from these eggs fall to the ground and feed upon decaying organic matter or small organisms in the soil or water. The larvae, stage usually lasts from one to three years, depending on the species. Mature larvae crawl to drier areas to pupate and ultimately emerge as adults.

How Did I Get Deer Flies?
Much like the horse fly, the deer fly feeds on the blood of humans and other animals. They come out in warm weather and rely on color, movement or carbon dioxide output to find hosts. The pests rarely enter homes because they prefer moist habitats like marshes, woodland ponds and streams and there are very few practical methods that will prevent or control deer flies around the home.

There is or used to be a type of liquid adhesive that you could spray or paint onto a milk jug or anything and the deer flies would flock to it and get stuck immediately upon contact. It was blue in color and the info said deer flies were most attracted to blue. The pictures were of hundreds of deer flies stuck on a milk jug. Don't remember what the name of the product was. They had strips also that could attached to your hat or wherever. It probably could be found on an internet search.

Davexx1 you could be thinking of Tanglefoot, although it's not blue. I have heard of guys spreading it on blue plastic cups and attaching them to their hats.

Following this.

Thermacell keeps them away, but running one on you all summer gets expensive.

In Zimbabwe they used blue tarps to attract tsetse flies as well. I got bit twice...it’s legit hot needle. I’m kinda proud of our deer and horse flies for being able to compete!
