About to celebrate a year with mine, and now I've got a new trapper to train. Have enough kids and you'll need the land.

Blitz -

Read Proverbs and seek wisdom and understanding. Make sure God leads you to marry your future wife. Do not let some nagging woman convince you to marry her. That said, I assume you are not living in adultery and have yourself in order. If not - get yourself in order first. Sounds harsh, well that is what God tells us......Put Him first and you will have many trapping trips ahead of you. I have been blessed to trap from North Dakota to Mississippi and met awesome people all between.

She’s very good to me. Last October we were in a blind together for her birthday in Georgia sweating our butts off. This year I’ll be in Canada missing her birthday. She’s not hunter, she’s actually a vegetarian. But because of health stuff. She loves checking traps with me.
The kids thing is my point, my dad died when I was 13, but I grew up coming up here to pa on the farm I now live, to hunt with him and the trips here, made me who I am. The whole traveling to hunt and fish thing completed the journey. I want my kids to have that with me, like I did with my dad.

a man marries a woman thinking she will stay the same.

a woman marries a man with the intention to make him the person she wants him to be. especially young women

women get frustrated and don't understand why their man wont change. men get frustrated because their wife does change.

90% of divorce is initiated by women.

there are NO legal benefits to a man to get married.

Marriage is a contract whereby you are giving everything you have, and everything you will earn to your woman. don't do it. maybe when your 50. you can be a dad and a father without that man neutering female creation called marriage. I notice you said she wants to marry. Its because it will greatly benefit her. You, not so much. Don't do it. You can cohabitate, raise children and share everything without involving the government by entering into the legal contract known as marriage.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

While they're pretty much everywhere I'd probably pick the southern half for coyotes. More sagebrush desert type terrain.

10bands. Question? With only 2000 trappers, would their be any work for a trapper that was willing to come from Alabama at a moments notice? What kind of money could a man make, trapping for others? Any bounty work? Cattle or sheep ranchers hiring?

Why were you in a blind together if she doesn't hunt?

A better question would be why were you sharing a blind before marriage? Hunting in sin!

Potter County PA is definitely God’s Country USA. I remember seeing in a trapper’s catalog years ago of a barn shot of mixed furs caught by one trapper in Potter County called the ultimate catch. I have yet to see since then such a large number of mixed furs in a single picture.
