I read where Trump is moving the BLM HQ to Grand Junction Colo. From D.C.

The move is to put the policy makers closer to and to be more accessible to the people most affected by the BLM.

Smart move. Hope they can adjust to the change in scenery.

BLM is imposable to work with if the cases I have been involved with. The move is a good thing in my opinion and is common sense.

I thought so too. Said employees will be spread out to most all regional offices with some stationed in the new place.

This would help for certain. An attitude adjustment would be welcome here in Colorado. Grand Junction might be to liberal though, I'd rather see them based in Craig or even better Rangely.

My personal opinion:. Bunch of boot licking terrorist. Kind of funny the four women who wanna shut ice down are perfectly fine with BLM.

I wish Trump would move the vast majority of the government agencies to the middle of the country. Them maybe Northern Virginia liberals will have to move out and my vote will actually matter again, and I can take my State back.

I hear ya CC -- when they do things like that they need to close the office and start a new one from scratch with ALL new employees. Otherwise it just moves the problem somewhere else.

In my experience it is likely to result in a number of new employees if the new location is distant and more rural. Don't know about Grand Junction but folks living on the east coast in a huge metropolitan area may not be willing to move to Co. It may not match their lifestyle or work for their family situation. Moving that far away from family is difficult. Sounds like a great idea to me.

The USDA is moving to Kansas City, 2/3rds of USDA employees have declined the reassignment order. So it is highly possible the same will happen with BLM.

One thing to keep in mind about the "staff" in D.C.

D.C. voted 95 percent for Hillary, so I doubt they have our(us outdoorsman)same outlook . More than one way to drain the swamp from our agencies.

Moving federal government head sheds out across the nation makes sense to me. If a lot of the long term appointed persons don't want to go it is an opportunity to hire new staff and many will be from areas near by. Also it may well be much lower cost to have the administration headquarters in lower cost regions of the US. The downside could be that those agencies outside of the DC area may not get the attention they may need when it is needed as the administration and the Congress are not moving nor does it change the decision makers. If done in the spirit of making the agencies more responsible to those they serve it may have the benefit of taking some of the politics out of the agencies, at least at the top levels.
