My first and second were at Pere Marquette State Park in Illinois in 1961 and 1962. My wife I attended with Dick Daniel and his wife.

Been to quite a few, the best place I've ever been for a convention was in '96, Midland, MI. LOTS of big trees and shade. It was a great place to hold such a gathering.

'84 Cookeville, tn. was my first, next one after it was 2001 in Mason Jar City, IA. and didn't miss another one till the 2014 U.P. one.

Doubt I ever see another one.

Great story's guys from the old days. Sad part in all this is look at the date's most of us attended the first one! Lot of bald and grey heads
at them now, I don't see the next generation coming up!

You are correct Jtrapper......trapping is dying. Another way this can be seen is the average age of us on Tman. Sad thing is this cant be changed in our lifetime...its running out.

It is not just trapping that is dying .Hunting is on the same path .The aging population, the lack of access for people to go enjoy the outdoor sports and in general the people losing touch with the natural world .But without those conventions and organizations we would be losing the battle at a faster pace . Education is the key to keeping what we do alive
