Mujibar was applying for a job in India.

The Personnel Manager said, 'Mujibar,
you have passed all the tests, except one.
Unless you pass it , you cannot qualify for this job.'

Mujibar said, 'I am ready.'

The manager said,
'Make a sentence using the words
Yellow, Pink, and Green .'

Mujibar thought for a few minutes and said,
'Mister manager, I am ready.'

The manager said, 'Go ahead.'

Mujibar said,
'The telephone goes green, green,
and I pink it up, and say,
Yellow, this is Mujibar.'

Mujibar now works at a call center.

No doubt you have spoken to him.
I know I have.

I speak to him from time to time also, although he says his name is Lance, or Robert.

Yes they are difficult to understand but nearly 500 million people in India speak, understand and write English, more than those that live in the US, Canada, Great Britain and Australia. When I traveled there in 2008 it was the elderly, those in the caste system and the poor that did not speak English. All the youth in the schools learn English as well as their native languages which there are about 20 some nationally recognized languages.

India has a vast amount of natural resources and brain power. India does not have a culture that promotes using their resources and brain power, so very little is accomplished or done in India.

Yes I guess I got the hiccups!! India has chosen what they call the US or western education and training model. They are for getting as many qualified youth into higher education as they can, which means the current governments know they will leave several hundred million of the poor and lesser educated behind as they move forward. This is very much different then the Chinese model which is to get 99% literacy to their nation but for the most part high school equivalent with far fewer getting advanced degrees. The Chinese therefore will have far more workers willing and able to do manufacturing and other more manual work while in India they are hoping for higher level service related occupations. Both have advantages and short comings it will be interesting over the next couple generations to see which country fares better. After all it is impacting about 2.5 billion people so the choices have consequences for sure.

Lot of cardiologists from India around here. Seen a lot of other high level Indian doctors in other parts of the USA, as well.

I saw a 23 yr old heart specialist from India at the Mayo Clinic. He couldn't figure out what was wrong so he said "This is sumting you just have to live with."
Later on down the road it was correctly diagnosed as seizures.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

Bingo Keith. It has been our culture that has helped much of Europe and the US excel. Don't know what the future will bring with the changes that seem to be coming.
