Heard some comments awhile back about nafa August sale, that no wild fur offer an other rumors, I just look at order of sale, look like more coon in this sale than last an quite few mink an rats.

That’s a pleasing way of saying “We’re going to clear-out all these buy backs and stale junk.”

Rumor through the grapevine is NAFA sent another letter to the ranchers.

Anyone seen it?

Yes they sent a letter, have I seen it yes, will I elaborate until it goes public, no.

My understanding is that all of the wild fur of the August NAFA sale is held over/ bought back goods. They did not put up any fresh goods for this sale. Any goods that were shipped and didn't make the May/June sale will be held for the February 2020 sale.

But didn't they sell more than 110,000 coon during the last sale? Their selling percentages seem to say yes. So, how is there going to be 310k coon offered in August unless more of the 2016 fire sale hides aren't pulled out of the cooler? It will be interesting to see how my few left over this season coon still up there go against my 2016 bought-for-speculation coon...?

Yes the last sale, is cleanup sale, last summer. I didn't have 1 thing sell, 2 summers ago, they sold almost all leftovers at decent prices. What is the letter to ranchers say

The letter basically said not to ship an ranch mink this year to throw them in the dump.

I'll bet cash advances are impossible to get this year.

Why is that ? Cash advances for wild fur or ranch ? I am pretty sure that u be able get advance on most kinds wild fur, unless something really changes upcoming.

I'm going go out on a limb here and agree with k52. I see advances getting curtailed

The letter mentions having a lot of capital tied up with consignor advances along with unsold goods. Also low clearances on sales and their bank wanting changes to how they do business in some areas as a condition of future loans for operating capital. I can't see how that won't affect the wild fur side of nafa as well. Giving cash advances for fur that more than likely will be be unsold for as long as some has is not a good business model and it wouldn't surprise me if that goes away. There are going to be cost cutting measures and this would be an easy way not to tie up capital.

This is all in my opinion on cutting advances.
