That was my first thought

If it was lightning he should be able to pick around the soil there and see.

He just got the card out Sunday. The weeds have grown quite a bit since then.

I was also thinking this. Also if it were lightning it should at least put a shadow behind the feeder leg but at that range it would likely wash the whole pic out and just be all white. I'm sticking with something close up camera hanging down in front of it.

A bug landed on the camera and one of its legs is over the lens.

I'm leaning toward something really close to the lens glowing white from the flash. The halo is just some "bleed" from the bright flash light.

The thing I don't like is that the bottom seems to be so perfectly cylinder like and the "bleed" at the bottom is smaller. If it was a twig, bug leg, piece of wire, etc, it would have an even halo all around it.

Years ago the Boss had a problem with a neighbors dog leaving dog poo the size of landscape timbers in the Boss’s yard when they would let “Rover” out to do his business at o dark thirty in the morning.
The Boss left a little present for “Rover” to find and roll in.
Thats the lights coming on in said neighbor’s house when “Rottenbutt Rover” got back inside his home and” the funk rushed out and knocked them to their knees!”.

Paul said Rover had been back inside the house for maybe 5 seconds when EVERY light in the house came on all at once and they threw Rover out of the house!
Rover didnt come over to visit anymore after that for some reason!

I don't think it is lightning for a few reasons. First is that the camera trigger speed on most trail cameras would be too slow to catch a lightning strike. Second is that the ground does not look disturbed and I think it would be with a strike. Third is that I think a strike would hit the tripod and not the ground next to it. Just my thoughts, all may be wrong.

Have no clue, but why isn’t the camera on the feeder itself? Looks like your missing most of your targets, unless it’s a directional feeder.
