My wife has been an employee of this company for twenty three years Her job that she was doing was phased out ,She was told she could keep her present wage and benefits but would have to take a job that requires weekends and Holidays (every other ) she would be in charge of 5 people but if anyone calls in she has to fill their shift and is on call 24/7 .If she declines this offer they have nothing and she will be offered a severance but we don't know what that will be unless she declines the job.She can retire at 62 or 65 and is 60 now .One more thing in those 23 years she has never called in or missed her shift . Ahhhh gratitude

Insurance is often the key factor in a case like this!
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Insurance is often the key factor in a case like this! Very much so. I am the cash cow in my marriage, but if you figure in the insurance that my wife works like a rented mule for that would not be the case.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

What do you think the company should do? That response doesn't surprise me from you, as it shouldn't from anyone. You and Grousewit are in good company together as being inconsiderate ninnies lol smilely face. Snowpa, today's time has no gathering of respect or consideration from most employers, they only see the bottom line on paper. My advice is for her to suck it up while coming up with a plan to screw them over, whatever benefits you all. Good luck!
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I’m not surprised you said something stupid like that. I would take the severance pay and retire early.
Cold as ice!
