Does department of corrections officer and weights and measures inspector, enforcing weights and measures laws count?
It isn’t the same nonsense and headaches that traditional on the road police experience, and I think that is what the OP meant.
I’ll give a shout out to the good officers on the street and especially the under appreciated conservation officers and wardens who do a lot of the same work for a lot less pay and respect. A lot of men and women I call friends.
Who is John Galt?
You don't rise to the occasion, you fall to the level of your training.

31 years Conservation Officer for the state of Missouri. 3 more years and I’ll hang it up. Always considered myself working for the outdoors folks, not the guvment. I met one of your officers at the Idaho Trappers Convention last year in Salmon, Idaho. If I remember correctly, he said he was retiring last summer.

He did retire. He’s going to Alaska trapping this winter. Good dude. (Don’t tell him I said that) He’s trapped all over the USA.
